Charli Bryan
Secretary
My partner and I moved to Marble in May 2024 to fulfill our dream of starting a homestead. I work remotely as a Learning Experience Designer and my partner manages the farm. We currently have a small menagerie of livestock (4 chickens, 3 goats, 2 dogs, and a barn cat), a small garden, and LOTS of projects as we continue to grow our homestead quickly! I love taking advantage of the Local Growers’ Farmstand at the Murphy Farmer’s Market, and connecting with other small farmers in the area.
Angela Henningfeld
Board Treasurer
Angela Henningfeld has been a resident of Cherokee County since 2016. She holds a post-secondary degree in legal assisting and a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics, with a minor in Spanish, from Western Carolina University. Her passion for community nutrition was ignited after spending 11 years in Barcelona, Spain where she witnessed the natural flow of nutrient-dense foods from nearby farmland spill into neighborhood markets and onto the plates of the local families, creating a vibrant and health-conscious food culture that emphasized fresh, seasonal ingredients. This experience deepened her understanding of the profound impact nutrition can have on public health. When not working or advocating for better nutrition, Angela enjoys spending time in nature, capturing landscapes and the beauty of fungi through photography.
Megan Lambert
Executive Director
Food has the power to heal, to demonstrate love, and to nourish growth. We must think about where our food comes from and how it is grown and produced, to ensure that future generations can also enjoy a delicious and meaningful harvest.
Grant Corrigan
Director, Farmer Outreach
My wife Maggie and I retired and moved to the Peachtree area onto a 2 ½ acre piece of property for a nice quiet retirement, in Sept. 2021. Then we started to garden, raise worms for Vermicompost, grow Micro-greens, and then we got chickens Now we make our own Appalachian Mountain Goat Milk Soap. No, we don’t have goats, however our son does on his property in the Waynesville area.
We joined the team at the Cherokee Clay Food Alliance, met many great local growers, and became a vendor at the Murphy Farmers Market.
We look forward to meeting everyone!
Marlana Baker
Director, Community Outreach
Marlana Baker is a native to Cherokee County and currently works as an agent and Local Food Coordinator for the N.C. Cooperative Extension. Baker is a founding member of the Cherokee Clay Food Alliance and has a passion for supporting the local food community through local food initiatives, support, and education.
